Newly developed, eConsulting is a three-phase consultation service which provides all of the necessary solutions for the eActros: from the initial consultation through to commissioning.
A team of national specialists and international experts offers you comprehensive assistance on your way to eMobility and step-by-step progression towards a CO2-free future.
A concept tailored precisely to your depot is created. The measures identified within this process are used to analyse all of the related costs. This is then followed by implementation in the form of integration into the operational processes.
The eConsulting process:
Step 1: Route analysis & charging infrastructure.
Route analysis.
A concept for the electrification of your depot starts with analysing the routes of your fleet. This forms the basis for all further decisions and measures in the eMobility consultation process.
You can test whether your routes are suitable for the eActros using the eTruck Ready website or the app of the same name. By setting various parameters, such as body, payload or environmental temperature, you can easily compare the routes of your conventional trucks with the data collected from the eActros.
With the eTruck Ready website, you can easily analyse from your computer whether an eActros is suitable for your routes.

Charging infrastructure.
The application of your vehicles determines the optimum charging behaviour and the necessary charging infrastructure together with software and hardware solutions. Throughout the whole process, Mercedes-Benz Trucks supports you with its expertise and the necessary tools – from connection to the power grid to charging planning and management.
Depot charging – charging at the operator’s own depot – is best suited to heavy-duty distribution haulage in urban areas. In this case vehicles are put to optimum use during a shift and then slowly fully recharged overnight at the depot when the truck is no longer in operation.
If your eTruck is in operation around the clock, then you will need to use other charging methods. With opportunity charging you charge your truck at different locations while it is temporarily parked; while the truck is being unloaded, for example. Charging time takes between 30 and 90 minutes. For this method, the necessary charging infrastructure must be available at several depots or loading/unloading locations.
Step 2: Concept development & cost analysis.
Using the identified measures all of the related costs and possible subsidies are broken down for transparency, analysed and optimised together with the eConsulting experts.
With the help of Daimler’s own software it is possible to identify potential incentives or advantages resulting from a change to electrically driven vehicles throughout Europe. For electric vehicles and the associated charging infrastructure these are specific benefits from subsidies, tax relief and exemptions as well as loans. Other advantages are lower toll charges, lower costs for vehicle registrations or exemptions from driving bans in inner cities. Our specialists will also help you to evaluate the cost-benefit ratio and to file a detailed application.
Step 3: Integration into operations.
And now on to the implementation phase. All of the necessary processes are integrated into business operations. In order that this implementation phase is successful, we will advise and train you and your staff in integrated software solutions such as our intelligent charging management system and energy-conserving driving and otherwise actively assist you when needed. Our comprehensive training portfolio is aimed at both drivers and fleet managers.
Drivers learn about all of the relevant operating information. This includes charging the eActros, environmentally friendly driving which can contribute to a higher range, battery-friendly driving which may increase the service life of the battery and optimised charging for maximum utilisation of the charging infrastructure.
Fleet managers receive training in the eActros’s technical features, dealing with a high voltage system, maximisation of its efficiency and the organisational implications. They are also given an insight into the drivers’ perspective.
