Mercedes-Benz RoadEfficiency

Efficiency is the sum of the details.

The three pillars of RoadEfficiency:

  • Low total costs - This is the first pillar of RoadEfficiency and equally the affirmation that the Actros has delivered on its promise of offering lower fuel consumption than its predecessor.
  • Greater safety - This is the second pillar of RoadEfficiency and an attribute of our trucks to which the Actros lends even greater emphasis.
  • High vehicle use - The third pillar of RoadEfficiency comprises the service innovation Mercedes-Benz Uptime and other pioneering advantages.

LOW TOTAL COSTS
Achieving low operating costs with a focus on reduced fuel consumption.

We do everything. To ensure particularly low total costs.
This is the first pillar of RoadEfficiency and equally the affirmation that the Actros has delivered on its promise of offering lower fuel consumption than its predecessor. It does this thanks to further optimised aerodynamics and, for example, the implementation of an enhanced Predictive Powertrain Control system which comes as standard.

The Actros continues to underline its leading role: in over 2000 Fuel Challenges it has won more than 90% – with a consumption advantage of around 10%1. But that’s not all: in future we will continue to work on lowering consumption – further reducing total costs in the process.

Economical to the core.
Low fuel consumption is a crucial contributory factor to economic efficiency. This is a virtue that the Actros has demonstrated in daily use.

The Actros now boasts additional fuel savings of up to 3% on the motorway and up to 5% on A and B roads. This results from further optimisation of the drivetrain and aerodynamics, for example, as well as from the enhanced Predictive Powertrain Control system which comes as standard and which is now also able to contribute to fuel savings on A and B roads.

Low overall costs also result from the new assistance systems, which boost driving safety and help to ensure that your truck arrives reliably on schedule. Efficiency also improves as a result of a further increase in vehicle utilisation. Courtesy of innovative services tailored perfectly to your requirements, such as Mercedes-Benz Uptime2,3,4, for example. The services from Fleetboard are additionally available to further improve performance in your logistics processes. All in the interests of added efficiency. the Actros.

GREATER SAFETY.
Getting you there safely – with the support of assistance and safety systems.

Safety is at the root of our DNA.
This is the second pillar of RoadEfficiency. Thanks to assistance systems such as the standard Active Brake Assist 51,2, the optionally available Active Drive Assist 22,3,4, MirrorCam2,5,6 or Active Sideguard Assist2,5,7, the driver is noticeably relieved of stress and safety is significantly increased.

Trucks that are safer are not only a major step forward for all road users, they are also more efficient. That’s because they are less often put out of action by accidents and they relieve the driver’s workload. This is why we have been focusing for more than 45 years now on developing innovative assistance systems.

With the new, optionally available Active Drive Assist 22,3,4, the standard Active Brake Assist 51,2, Traffic Sign Assist2,5,8,9 , the electronic parking brake with HOLD function and Trailer Stability Assist2,10, we have continued our pioneering work to bring assistance systems to our roads which additionally aid drivers and relieve stress on them – thereby establishing good conditions for safe and thus efficient arrival at the final destination.

HIGH VEHICLE USE.
Efficiency is the sum of the details.

Intelligent networking. For even more efficient vehicle usage.
The third pillar of RoadEfficiency comprises the innovative Mercedes-Benz Uptime service and other pioneering advantages. In addition to simpler handling and work procedures, these also include the intelligent networking of driver, vehicle and logistics processes, which enables noticeable improvements in vehicle use and capacity utilisation.

The vision behind Mercedes-Benz Uptime: 100% predictability and maximum vehicle availability.
With Mercedes-Benz Uptime we are pursuing a clear objective: to permanently minimise unscheduled vehicle downtimes and to make repairs predictable – thereby further increasing your vehicle availability.
