The FTA has launched a brand new Transport Manager of the year competition for the logistics industry.
Some 50 finalists, selected by the FTA’s Board from all entries received, will take part in a day of competition in April, by undertaking a series of role-relevant challenges in order to test the knowledge and skills they need to be a great transport manager.
All participants will then be hosted at a ceremony on 6 May where the winners will be announced, including the overall FTA Transport Manager of the Year and Young Transport Manager of the Year.
Carlie Nowell, the FTA’s Head of Events, said it would be “the only event of its kind that tests and celebrates the important work carried out by transport managers. Transport managers play a vital role in logistics operations, keeping vehicles moving and ensuring compliance is maintained, and this competition will provide the very best platform to showcase their skills and demonstrate how their roles are key in keeping Britain trading.
She added: “The Young Transport Manager of the Year award will also recognise the next generation of emerging talent which will be vital to the continued success of our industry. Young people are the future of our sector, and it is important to recognise the talent of those who will be at the heart of logistics operations nationwide for many years to come.”
